Today I had the chance to meet with Mike Fortnier, founder of Morbid Subculture Promotions and singer for Nailshitter. Mike's an interesting guy. He knows volumes about the scene in Florida, which makes him very valuable to chat with.

Among the things Mike and I talked about, was how much the scene sucks in Orlando. While, I wanted to take pause to Mike's statements, I can hardly argue he's wrong. Years ago shows would routinely pull 3 or 4 times what they do now. Much of the problem has to do with lack of information. That's an issue, I believe we can tackle.

Chances are, if you're reading this, you have some interest in the Death Metal scene in Florida. Chances are equally as good that if you knew about a show in your home town, you'd go to it. Hell, there may be a few shows that you'd drive a while to see, just because they're that good.

So, in the myriad of things that we do here at Florida Death Metal, we're gonna team up with Morbid Subculture to help promote shows in the Orlando area. We don't have enough presence in the other areas of the state to do promotions just yet. However, if you're interested in helping out, we're all ears. Drop us a line here
