The Absence Interviewed on The Govenor's Ball

Jamie Stewart,  singer and frontman for The Absence, was recently interviewed by "The Governor", of "The Governor's Ball". While The Governor's Ball is something that deserves plenty of discussion on it's own, we here at Florida Death Metal were quite delighted to hear the interview with one of the best bands in Florida Death Metal today. The Absence is, quite possibly, the best band to come out of Florida in years.

Jamie played along pretty with with "The Governor's" references to 10 mile long phalluses, crushing of the skull, and extreme violence. Jamie talked about the maturing process of the band since their debut album. Jamie also made reference to they're drummer situation, referring to their "... reliable, consistent drummer now ...".

He also mentioned a level of disappointment with american fans. Specifically, Jamie mentions fans "... who sit there with their arms crossed, too cool or something ...". When asked about being a "Florida Death Metal" band, Jamie avoided a direct answer, claiming that they sound "... The Absence ...".

Finishing off the interview, Jamie quoted one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's worst movies "Batman Forever", and stated the bands appreciation for movies like "Total Recall". The interview is definitely worth hearing for yourself. You'll sit through a little less than half an hour's worth of other stuff, equally entertaining.
